Cleansing Composition

Abstract: The present disclosure describes an oil-based cleansing composition comprising: cetyl ethyl hexanoate, PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate, PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil and d) water, wherein the cetyl ethyl hexanoate and the PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate has a weight ratio in the range of 1:0.37-1:0.12. The disclosure also describes a process of preparation of said oil-based cleansing composition.

Specification

Claims:1. An oil based transparent cleansing composition comprising:
a) cetyl ethyl hexanoate;
b) PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate;
c) PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil; and
d) water,
wherein the cetyl ethyl hexanoate and the PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate has a weight ratio in the range of 1:0.37-1:0.11.
2. The transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the composition has a viscosity less than 100 cp.
3. The transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cetyl ethyl hexanoate and the PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil has a weight ratio in the range of 1: 0.17 – 1:0.01.
4. The transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cetyl ethyl hexanoate and the water has a weight ratio in the range of 1: 0.23 – 1:0.01.
5. A transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
a) cetyl ethyl hexanoate having weight percentage in the range of 60 – 85 % with respect to the composition;
b) PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate having weight percentage in the range of 9.8 – 22 % with respect to the composition;
c) PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil having weight percentage in the range of 1 – 10 % with respect to the composition; and
d) water having weight percentage in the range of 1 – 14 % with respect to the composition.
6. The transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, further comprises at least one cosmetically acceptable excipient selected from the group consisting of emollient oil, preservative, and combinations thereof.

The transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the emollient oil has a weight percentage in the range of 0.001 to 10% with respect to the composition, and the emollient oil is selected from the group consisting of olive oil, argan oil, isopropyl Myristae, isopropyl palmitate, light liquid paraffin, carnauba wax, spermaceti, beeswax, lanolin, hydrocarbons such as liquid paraffin, petrolatum, squalene, higher fatty acids such as lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, behenic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic, lanolic, isostearic, arachidonic and poly unsaturated fatty acids, and combinations thereof; the preservative has a weight percentage in the range of 0.01 to 2% .with respect to the composition, and the preservative is selected from the group consisting of phenoxyethanol, DMDM hydantoin, BHT, EDTA, ethyl hexyl glycerine, sodium benzoate and combinations thereof.
8. A process for preparing the transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, the process comprising the steps of:
a) obtaining cetyl ethyl hexanoate;
b) obtaining PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate;
c) obtaining PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil;
d) obtaining water; and
e) contacting the cetyl ethyl hexanoate, the PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate, the PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil, and water to obtain the oil-based transparent cleansing composition.
9. A process of preparing the transparent cleansing composition as claimed in any of the claims 1- 7, the process comprising the steps of:
(a) contacting the cetyl ethyl hexanoate, the PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate, the PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil to obtain a first mixture; and
(b) contacting the first mixture, and the water to obtain the oil-based transparent cleansing composition.

The process of preparing the transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 9, wherein (a) contacting the cetyl ethyl hexanoate, the PEG 20 glyceryl triisostearate, the PEG 40 hydrogenated castor oil to obtain a first mixture is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 35 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 700 - 900 rpm for a period in the range of 5 – 20 minutes; (b) contacting the first mixture, and the water to obtain the transparent cleansing composition is carried out at a temperature in the range of 25 – 35 ?, with a stirring speed in the range of 700 - 900 rpm for a period in the range of 20 – 40 minutes.
11. The transparent cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the composition is a skin cleansing composition effective in removal of oil-based dirt.
