Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a cleansing composition comprising: (I) at least one anionic surfactant selected from a group consisting of at least one amino acid surfactant, at least one taurate based surfactant, and combinations thereof; and (II) at least one amphoteric surfactant; and (b) at least one polymer, wherein the surfactant system to the at least one polymer has a weight ratio in a range of 0.4:1 to 2.8:1. Also provided is a process for preparing the composition of the present disclosure.
I/We Claim:
1. A cleansing composition comprising:
a) a surfactant system comprising:
I. at least one anionic surfactant selected from a group
consisting of at least one amino acid surfactant, at least one
taurate based surfactant, and combinations thereof; and
II. at least one amphoteric surfactant; and
b) at least one polymer,
wherein the surfactant system to the at least one polymer has a weight ratio in a range of 0.4:1 to 2.8:1.
2. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one amino acid surfactant is selected from a group consisting of acyl glycinate, acyl isethionates, acyl methyl isethionate, and combinations thereof.
3. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one taurate based surfactant is selected from a group consisting of sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, sodium methyl oleoyl taurate, and combinations thereof.
4. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one amphoteric surfactant is selected from a group consisting of cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, and combinations thereof.
5. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one polymer is selected from a group consisting of hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, acrylates/Steareth-20 methacrylate crosspolymer, and combinations thereof.
6. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises at least one additive selected from a group consisting of benefit agent, humectant, preservative, moisturizing agent, pH modifier, and combinations thereof.
7. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one amino acid surfactant has a weight percentage in a range of 1-5% with
respect to the composition, the at least one taurate based surfactant has a weight percentage in a range of 0.1-1% with respect to the composition, the at least one amphoteric surfactant has a weight percentage in a range of 1-5% with respect to the composition, and the at least one polymer has a weight percentage in a range of 0.2-8% with respect to the composition.
8. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the benefit agent has a weight percentage in a range of 0.1-5% with respect to the composition, and the humectant has a weight percentage in a range of 0.01-2% with respect to the composition.
9. The cleansing composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the benefit agent is at least one component selected from a group consisting of exfoliating beads, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E, sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid, C12-C18 fatty acids, and combinations thereof, and the humectant is at least one component selected from a group consisting of glycerine, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, sorbitol, polyethylene glycol 400, and combinations thereof.
10. A process for preparing the composition as claimed in claim 1, said process comprising:
a) obtaining a surfactant system comprising:
I. at least one anionic surfactant selected from a group
consisting of at least one amino acid surfactant, at least one
taurate based surfactant, and combinations thereof; and
II. at least one amphoteric surfactant; and
b) obtaining at least one polymer; and
c) contacting the surfactant system, and the at least one polymer, to obtain the cleansing composition.
11. A process for preparing the composition as claimed in claim 6, said process
comprising:
a) obtaining a surfactant system comprising:
I. at least one anionic surfactant selected from a group
consisting of at least one amino acid surfactant, at least one
taurate based surfactant, and combinations thereof; and
II. at least one amphoteric surfactant; and
b) obtaining at least one polymer;
c) obtaining at least one additive selected from a group consisting of benefit agent, humectant, preservative, moisturizing agent, pH modifier, and combinations thereof; and
d) contacting the surfactant system, the at least one polymer, and the at least one additive, to obtain the cleansing composition.
