Communication System And Path Control Method

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a communication system with which service interruption caused by device failure congestion or the like in a mobile phone system can be avoided. A communication system according to the present invention is provided with: a data transfer device (11); a gateway (12) which communicates with the data transfer device (11); a gateway (13) serving as an alternative device for the gateway (12); and a path control device (14) which controls communication paths between the data transfer device (11) and the gateways (12 13). The path control device is configured such that in cases when a fault condition in one of the gateways (12) is detected the data transfer device (11) is controlled such that data transferred from the data transfer device (11) to said gateway (12) is transferred to the other gateway (13) and the other gateway (13) is notified of session information set in the gateway (12).
