Abstract: The invention relates to a connector housing (1) for an electric connector. The connector housing comprises a main body (8) and a contact locking member (6) which is connected to the main body via a hinge member (10). The hinge member (10) defines a pivot axis (12), about which the contact locking member may pivot into a locked state (22). In the locked state, the contact locking member (6) is interlocked with the main body (8). A locking protrusion (16) of the contact locking member (6) extends into a contact cavity (2) of the main body (8) in which an electric contact (4) is received. To increase failure resistance of the connector housing (1) a hinge failure lock (52) is provided, which, in the locked state, blocks a relative movement of the main body (8) and the contact locking member (6) in a direction (50) substantially parallel to the pivot axis (12). Thus, if the contact locking member (6) is severed from the main body (8), for example due to a breakage at the hinge member, the contact locking member (6) is still held in place captively.
