Abstract: The present disclosure provides a neutral pH range cosmetic composition which upon application masks wrinkles on skin without leaving a white patchy residue. Also provided are method of making said composition without using external pH buffering agents or pH modulating agents.
Claims:1. A skin care composition comprising:
a. at least one silicate; and
b. at least one silicone,
wherein at least one silicate to at least one silicone w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 0.63:1-5.55:1, and pH of said composition is in the range of 6.5-7.5.
2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one silicate to at least one silicone w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1:1-2.5:1.
3. The composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein at least one silicate to at least one silicone w/w ratio in said composition is in the range of 1.72:1-1.88:1.
4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one silicate is selected from the group consisting of sodium potassium aluminium silicate, silica, and combinations thereof.
5. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one silicone is selected from the group consisting of methicone, trimethylol hexyllactone crosspolymer, dimethicone, phenyl trimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, and combinations thereof.
6. The composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-5, further comprising:
a. at least one humectant having weight concentration in the range of 3-5%;
b. at least one preservative having weight concentration in the range of 0.02-0.2%;
c. at least one pigment having weight concentration in the range of 0.251-2.24%; and
d. at least one suspending agent having weight concentration up to 100%.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein
a. said at least one humectant is selected from the group consisting of sorbitol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, glycerin, hexylene, and urea;
b. said at least one preservative is selected from the group consisting of methylparaben, propylparaben, phenoxyethanol, and sodium benzoate;
c. said at least one pigment is selected from the group consisting of mica, iron oxides, and titanium dioxide; and
d. said at least one suspending agent is water.
8. The composition as claimed in claim 7, comprising:
a. silica having weight concentration in the range of 3.81-10.92%;
b. sodium potassium aluminium silicate having weight concentration in the range of 0.64-6.4%;
c. methicone having weight concentration in the range of 0.09-0.21%;
d. trimethyol hexyllactone crosspolymer having weight concentration in the range of 2.94-6.86%;
e. titanium dioxide having weight concentration in the range of 0.25-2.16%;
f. iron oxide having weight concentration in the range of 0.001-0.08%;
g. propylene glycol having weight concentration in the range of 3-5%;
h. propylparaben having weight concentration in the range of 0.01-0.1%;
i. methylparaben having weight concentration in the range of 0.01-0.1%; and
j. water up to 100%.
9. The composition as claimed in claim 8, comprising:
a. silica having weight concentration in the range of 6.73-7.19%;
b. sodium potassium aluminium silicate having weight concentration in the range of 1.92-2.4%;
c. methicone having weight concentration of 0.15%;
d. trimethyol hexyllactone crosspolymer having weight concentration of 4.9%;
e. titanium dioxide having weight concentration in the range of 0.6-1.02%;
f. iron oxide having weight concentration of 0.04%;
g. propylene glycol having weight concentration of 5%;
h. propylparaben having weight concentration of 0.02%;
i. methylparaben having weight concentration of 0.03%; and
j. water up to 100%.
10. A method of preparing a skin care composition as claimed in any of the claims 8-9, said method comprising:
a. contacting propylene glycol, water, propylparaben and methyl paraben to obtain a first mixture;
b. contacting silica, and methicone to obtain a second mixture and contacting with first mixture to obtain a third mixture;
c. contacting trimethylol hexyllactone crosspolymer, and silica to obtain a fourth mixture and contacting with third mixture to obtain a fifth mixture;
d. contacting sodium potassium aluminium silicate, and titanium dioxide, and silica to obtain sixth mixture and contacting with fifth mixture to obtain a seventh mixture; and
e. contacting silica, titanium dioxide, and iron oxide to obtain an eight mixture and contacting with seventh mixture to obtain said skin care composition.
11. A method of preparing a skin care composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-7, said method comprising:
a. contacting at least one humectant, at least one preservative, and at least one solvent to obtain a first mixture;
b. contacting at least one silicate, and at least one silicone to obtain a second mixture and contacting with first mixture to obtain a third mixture; and
c. contacting at least one pigment with third mixture to obtain said skin care composition.
12. A method of masking skin wrinkles, said method comprising:
a. obtaining a composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-9; and
b. contacting said composition with skin,
wherein said method masks skin wrinkles.
13. A composition as claimed in any of the claims 1-9 for topical use in masking skin wrinkles.
