DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
The invention relates to event and gift management system and method. More particularly, this invention relates to management system and method for event, wish list and gift.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] A wish list or want list is an itemization of goods or services that a person or organization desires. A person may distribute or share copies of their list to family, friends, and other stakeholders who are likely to purchase gifts for the would-be recipient, or to offer some of the listed items for sale. The goal of a wish list is to facilitate communication between the gift receiver and the gift giver. Wish lists often contain items that a gift purchaser can obtain from a variety of sources. Some wish lists are specialized for particular purposes or concentrated at individual retailers, such as gift registries (e.g., bridal registries).
[0002] A gift or a present is an item given to someone without the expectation of payment or anything in return. Although gift-giving might involve an expectation of reciprocity, a gift is meant to be free. In many countries, the act of mutually exchanging money, goods, etc. may sustain social relations and contribute to social cohesion. Economists have elaborated the economics of gift-giving into the notion of a gift economy. By extension the term gift can refer to any item or act of service that makes the other happier or less sad, especially as a favor, including forgiveness and kindness. Gifts are also first and foremost presented on occasions such as birthdays and any events.
[0003] The World Wide Web (“the Web”) is a system for publishing information, in which users may use a web browser application to retrieve information, such as web pages, from web servers and display it. Search engines, subject indices, and links between web pages and web sites facilitate the exploration of information published on the Web
[0004] The Web has increasingly become a medium used to shop for products. Indeed, thousands and thousands of different products may be purchased on the Web. A user who plans to purchase a product on the Web can visit the Web site of a Web merchant that sells the product view information about the product, give an instruction to purchase the product, and provide information needed to complete the purchase, such as payment and shipping information.
[0005] Some web merchants enable a user to identify a list of items that they are interested in receiving as gifts, called a “wish list.” Other users that desire to give a gift to that user can view the user's wish list, and then purchase an item from the wish list for the user. When using such wish lists, the gift recipient is more likely to receive appropriate gifts that they desire, and a gift giver is more likely to be able to provide such gifts to the recipient. By providing such wish list functionality, a web merchant can also often sale items otherwise would not have, thereby generating additional sales and profits for the web merchant.
[0006] Traditionally, there have been bridal registries available in department stores that allow couples to register gifts that they would like to receive for a wedding present, but there are no corresponding registries for other occasions. Some other occasions may be such but not limited to as a) Baby Showers; b) Christmas; c) Graduations; d) Funerals; d) Birthdays; e) Father's Day; f) Mother's Day; g) Anniversaries; and other holiday or religious events.
[0007] The present invention involves the problem of allowing individuals to register gifts from multiple business entities, referred to herein as Service Providers, “SPs”, or Merchants. These gifts available from selected Service Providers are generally limited to wedding gifts, such as china, crystal, silver, and other household items.
[0008] While conventional wish lists can produce significant benefits, they also have a substantial shortcoming: it often requires considerable effort for gift givers to review wish lists, particularly long ones, and select appropriate gifts to give to gift recipients.
[0009] Giving and receiving the right gift for the right event can sometimes be difficult. Gift givers often spend a great deal of time and effort shopping for someone only to end up giving them a gift they already have, they did not want, or that did not fit the occasion. Numerous online gift registry and wish list systems have been developed in order to address this problem, however, most are cumbersome and none are able to properly support all life events for which societal norm dictates the giving of a gift product such as, for example, birthdays, bridal showers, weddings, parties, holidays, and the like.
[00010] While the Internet has made it easier for shoppers to locate products and locate products at a price which the shopper is willing to pay for the product, in many other instances the present systems may not always be the optimal means for locating a product which is rare.
[00011] One of the hardest things is to choose a gift for someone else wherein the thought of not liking the gift by the recipient is scary. Removing this emotional quotient of asking or telling your friends, family or associates as to what they want for a gift is the need of the hour.
[00012] All the above ways have their significant disadvantages and the process for each of them is huge and the approach is outdated. Accordingly, existing methods, devices and systems are often difficult to use and are not synchronized properly, and often present users with inconsistent methods that often prevent the users from making effective use of the technology.
[00013] In view of this disadvantage of conventional gift registries, a more powerful wish list functionality that assist gift givers in selecting gifts for gift recipients would have significant utility.
[00014] Therefore, there is a genuine need to overcome all the above problems by developing an improveddevice, method and system, which is accurate, efficient, dynamic and simple and can provide the user with easy event, wish list and gift management.

[00034] The present invention relates to event and gift management system and method. More particularly, this invention relates to management system and method for event, wishlist and gift.
[00035] Various embodiments of the invention provide an event and gift management system and method for automatically purchasing a gift from a wish list. The facility may be operated by a vendor, a separate provider of wish list functionality, or a parties of various other types.
[00036] Although the present disclosure is explained with respect to one or more event, wishlist and gifting device, method and system, it would be appreciated that this application is used for illustration purposes, but it is not a limitation.
[00037] The present invention provides an event, wishlist and gift managementdevice, method and system. The invention comprises a user to create dream list or a wishlist or any event or any celebration and share it with their friends and family or group wherein their friends and family can contribute to buy the products or services for the recipient.
[00038] The present invention provides a system for registering items selected by a registrant from a plurality of participating vendors for subsequent communication to a prospective purchaser. In this way, a registrant can provide information about his or herself through a terminal, be assigned a unique identifier, and then identify items on participating Service Providers that they wish to add to their “Wish” list. These items may be traditional merchandize such as clothing, household items, etc. or may include digital products or services such as downloadable software, online publications (e.g. magazines and newspapers) and subscription services as well as travel-related and financial services.
[00039] The major benefit to the user is that they can store a complete “Wish” list of all items of interest in a central location that others may access for gift purchases and do so in a faster method than previous inventions. In addition, the registrants may wish to delay purchases to some future time or event and be notified automatically when that time or event occurs.
[00040] The benefit to the gift-giver or purchaser is that they have a wider selection of items and Service Providers to choose from. In addition, they can choose to be shown items in a given price range or category on the gift-receiver's “Wish” list. Thus, they are not limited to a single vendor and may shop for a comparable item or even the same item at a reduced cost at a different vendor than the preferred reseller. Another major benefit to the purchaser is that of convenience and ease of use. From the comfort of their own home, they can access the system, find a desired item to purchase, and place an order with a participating reseller through a computer system in a very short amount of time as opposed to going to a retail establishment, waiting in line, and purchasing the item. Thus, there is a significant time savings.
[00041] One example embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a method for implementation by one or more data processors forming part of at least one computing system, the method including creating a wishlist comprising one or more product items, creating or importing, from a third-party server, one or more calendar events, associating the one or more product items with at least one of the one or more calendar events, or associating the one or more calendar events with at least one of the one or more product items.
