Dust Screen For A Fuel Water Separator
Abstract: Disclosed herein, is a dust screen for a fuel-water separator assembly of an internal combustion engine. The dust screen includes an element structure, a sealing member, and an easily replaceable filter screen. The element structure has a hollow truncated cone and an outer ring, a plurality of spokes, and a plurality of wedges. The filter screen is attached between the hollow truncated cone and the outer ring for trapping dust entrained in the water and a fuel-water mixture. The sealing member circumferentially encircles the outer ring. The dust capture screen ensures the capture of dust entrained in fluid separated from a fuel-water assembly, thereby preventing dust accumulation onto the sensing element of a water level sensor responsible for effective discharge of separated water from via an automatic drainage assembly.
