Abstract: A new eco friendly cooler working on solar energy, thus reducing the amount of electrical power used and reducing the cost of operating such a cooler. The inventive device includes a solar panel which is mountable on the housing of the eco friendly cooler, a dc motor for replacing the existing blower motor, and a dc motor driven pump for replacing the existing pump motor and pump. The solar panel is electrically coupled to the dc motor and to the dc motor driven pump, such that the electricity generated by the solar panel provides the electricity for operating the eco friendly cooler. Therefore, the cooler utilizes energy provided by sunlight, which reduces the use of commercially now being used costly energy. The cooler will operate from sunrise to sunset when cooling is most required and thereafter by the battery. It thus works non-stop even when the electric energy is not available for minimum 08 hours. It has provision of supplying cold drinking water, storage for fruits and vegetables and an extra hanging light.
ECO FRIENDLY COOLER
This invention describes an improvement in the presently manufactured and marketed coolers such that the improved device works on the solar energy when the sun light is available and there after it works on the basis of a battery which has an inbuilt capacity for about eight hours supply. Thus the cooler works uninterrupted even during the absence of the sunlight. In addition the cost of running the cooler is very low as compared to the conventional type coolers. There is inbuilt provision of trays for keeping vegetables/ fruits and supplying cold water.
The present invention relates to cooling system and more particularly pertains to a new eco friendly solar cooler for taking an eco friendly cooler off of an electrical power grid, thus reducing the amount of electrical power used and reducing the cost of operating such a cooler, basing the same on the solar energy.
The cooler works on freely available solar energy and thus saves the expenditure on electricity or diesel etc. This system is long lasting and maintenance free. The addition of a battery makes it work even when the solar energy is not available. The system is hassle free and does not produce noise, during working. It has an inbuilt cooling system of supplying cold drinking water, without any extra cost. Similarly fruits and vegetable can also be stored in cool environment thus extending their self life.
Eco friendly coolers themselves are well known. Such coolers operate by drawing air across water soaked pads and in the process; drop the temperature of the resulting air-water vapor mixture. They have been developed and used all over the country since they are cheap when compared with conventional air conditioners. Eco friendly coolers generally consist of a cube shaped housing with a blower inside the housing. The housing includes louver type openings which allow air to pass inside the housing when the blower is operated. Adjacent the louver openings, and inside the housing, are pads, which in use, are soaked with water. A water cooling system is provided inside the housing for soaking the pads, and for gathering and circulating the water within the water cooling system. A water pump, which is powered by electricity from an existing household line, is used to circulate the water. The motor for driving the blower is also powered from electricity from the same line.
The problem to be solved is to run the cooler during night hours or when so ever electricity is not available.
Object of invention is to have uninterested cool breeze round the clock and especially when the solar energy is not available. The problem to be solved is to modify the known system of solar cooler so that it works, round the clock, without any interception, even during the period when the solar energy is not available.
The working of the invention is as follows:
The inventive device includes a solar panel which is mountable on the housing of the eco friendly cooler, a dc motor for replacing the existing blower motor, and a dc motor driven pump for replacing the commonly used ac motor and pump. The solar panel is electrically coupled to the dc motor and to the dc motor is used to drive the pump, such that the electricity generated by the solar panel provides the electricity for operating the eco friendly cooler.
Therefore, the cooler utilizes energy provided by sunlight, which reduces the use of commercially used electric energy. The cooler will operate from sunrise to sunset when air cooling is most required and thereafter on the battery provided.
In these respects, the eco friendly solar cooler, according to the present invention substantially departs from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, and in so doing provides an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of taking an eco friendly cooler off of an electrical power grid, thus reducing the amount of electrical power used, and reducing the cost of operating such a cooler.
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of cooling systems now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a new eco friendly solar cooler construction wherein the same can be utilized for taking an eco friendly cooler off of an electrical power grid, thus reducing the amount of electrical power used thus reducing the cost of operating such a cooler.
The general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler and the method which has many of the advantages of the cooling systems mentioned heretofore and many novel features that results in a new eco friendly solar cooler which is not anticipated, rendered obvious, suggested, or even implied by any of the prior art cooling systems, either alone or in any combination thereof.
To attain this, the present invention generally comprises a solar panel which is mountable on the housing of the eco friendly cooler, a dc motor for replacing the existing blower motor, and a dc motor to drive the pump for replacing the existing motor and pump. The solar panel is electrically coupled to the dc motor and to the dc motor to drive the pump, such that the electricity generated by the solar panel provides the electricity for operating the eco friendly cooler. Therefore, the cooler utilizes energy provided by sunlight, which reduces the use of commercially used energy. The cooler will operate from sunrise to sunset when air cooling is most required on the solar energy and in the absence of the same it will work on the battery, provided.
There has thus been broadly outlined, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better
appreciated. There are additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.
As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the public generally, and especially the scientists, engineers and practitioners in the art who are familiar with phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature an essence of the technical disclosure of the application. The abstract is neither intended to define the invention of the application, which is measured by the claims, nor is it intended to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any way.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler and method which has many of the advantages of the cooling systems mentioned heretofore and many novel features that result in a new eco friendly solar cooler which is not anticipated, rendered obvious, suggested, or even implied by any of the prior art cooling systems, either alone or in any combination thereof.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler which may be easily and efficiently manufactured and marketed.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler which is of a durable and reliable construction.
An even further object of the present invention is to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler which is susceptible of a low cost of manufacture with regard to both materials and labor, and which is cost effective, to the consuming public, thereby making such eco friendly solar cooler economically available to the public.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler which retains all the advantages of the prior art, while simultaneously overcoming some of the disadvantages normally associated therewith.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler thus reducing the amount of electrical power used, and reducing the cost of operating such a cooler.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler which includes a solar panel which is mountable on the housing of the eco friendly cooler, a dc motor for replacing the existing blower motor, and a dc motor driven pump for replacing the existing pump motor and pump. The solar panel is electrically coupled to the dc motor and to the dc motor driven pump, such that the electricity generated by the solar panel provides the electricity for operating the eco friendly cooler. Therefore, the cooler utilizes energy provided by sunlight, which reduces the use of commercially used energy. The cooler will operate from sunrise to sunset when air cooling is most required.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a new eco friendly solar cooler that is environmentally friendly because it reduces the amount of electrical power used and because the use of conventional space air conditioners, which utilize harmful coolants, is reduced.
These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be had to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.
As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
The novelty of this invention lies in using 03 [three] water tanks, as against 01 [one] in the conventional type of solar cooler.
The added feature of this invention is the use of CFL light without any extra consumption of electric energy.
Therefore, the foregoing is illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes can readily be made by those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents that can be resorted to, fall within the scope of the invention.

We claim:
1. An eco friendly cooler of the type having housing, a blower mounted within the
housing and driven by a blower dc motor, a water cooling system within the
housing, and a pump dc motor driving a circulation pump for circulating water
within the water cooling system, of the method comprising the following steps:
[i] Mounting a solar panel on the housing;
[ii] Replacing the blower ac motor with a dc motor and electrically coupling the solar panel to the dc motor; and
[iii] Replacing the ac pump motor and circulation pump with a dc motor to drive the pump, and electrically coupling the solar panel to the dc motor to drive pump.
2. The Eco friendly solar cooler as claimed in claim 1, wherein the mounting step
comprises connecting the solar panel to the dc connector and the same then is
connected to the eco friendly solar cooler.
3. The Eco friendly cooler as claimed in claim 1 and 2, wherein the solar panel includes a pair of adjusting arms connected thereto, and wherein the mounting step further comprises engaging the adjusting arms with adjusting mechanisms on the housing so that the solar panel can be adjusted relative to the housing.
4. The Eco friendly cooler as claimed in claim 1 to 3 above, coupling the unit with a battery for operating the same when the solar energy is not available.
