Specification

EXPOSED WATER FLOATING SECURITY BARRIER
SUMMARY
fence on land stops an unwelcome intruder into the perimeter security. There is very few equivalent technology for ensuring perimeter security on water.
This design is one such floating perimeter security device that will stop a boat from intruding across this floating fence. It is anchored to. the bed and secured on the land nearby.
DESCRIPTION
1 Rear tensile Chain
2 Rear horizontal spikes
3 Rear vertical spikes
4 Front end spike
5 Front regular spike
6 Chain pocket
7 Buoyancy chamber
8 Front tensile chain
9 Vertical pipe for Ballast
10 Ballast
Construction -
a. The security barrier is made of two parallel steel chains (1 &8) passing through and secured to customised floats (7) at fixed distances.
b. The floats are secured at fixed distances to the chain - so that floats cannot be moved over the chain to create a larger gap between the floats and allow a boat to pass.
c. The floats are hollow and have buoyancy.
d. The floats have spikes (2, 3, 4, 5) welded to it.
e. It has two contiguous chains (1 & 8) running right through these floats that give it the continuity and the tensile strength.
f. A steel ballast (10) is secured one meter below the bottom of the floats with a pipe (9).
Working
g. The chains are secured to the bed by anchors or sinkers and to the land if nearby by RCC anchoring.
h. The floats have inbuilt buoyancy to stay afloat and support the chain.
i. Spikes on the float are designed to rise and hit a boat that hits barrier at high speed.
j. The floats are secured to the chains at fixed intervals in order to not allow larger gap to form and chain to sag / allow boat to pass.
k. There is a pipe with ballast under the float to have a good vertical metacentric height and stability.
Claim 1:
We claim - The float and spike arrangement in such an arrangement that helps the float to turn towards the boat and hit the hostile boat to damage it.
Claim 2:
We claim - The float and chain connecting arrangement that helps the floats keep fixed distances between the floats, thereby not giving enough space for the boat to pass between floats.
