Abstract: Provided is a gate device that prevents a user from forgetting their belongings. The gate device comprises a detection unit, an alert unit, and a gate control unit. The detection unit detects whether an object exists in a belongings storage area. The alert unit emits an alert pertaining to forgotten belongings if an object exists in the belongings storage area. If an object exists in the belongings storage area, the gate control unit controls a gate so that an examinee cannot pass.
