Abstract: The glass tube for a fluorescent lamp of the present invention includes a cylindrical glass tube that contains 5 to 17 wt% of Na¬2O) and 3 to 7 wt% of K2O and a protective film that partially or entirely covers the peripheral surface of the glass tube and that contains a nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 8 or greater, and has a sliding angle of 10° or less. The nonionic surfactant preferably is a nonionic surfactant represented by Formula 1 below. In the formula, R is a linear alkyl group having 12 to 18 carbon atoms; n indicates the average molar number of EO added, and n is 4 or greater; and EO is an ethyleneoxy group (CH¬2CH¬2O).
