Method And System For Generating Product Labels For Products

Abstract: A method for generating a product label to be affixed on one or more return products, the method comprising: - scanning, by a first scanner [202], a unique identity (UID) code present on one or more products, wherein the UID code is associated with a product code and a stock keeping unit (SKU) code; - capturing, by an image-capturing device [204], one or more images of each of the one or more products; - associating, by a processing unit [206], each image of the one or more images with the UID code of the product of the image; - selecting, by the processing unit [206], a set of clear images from the one or more images based on one or more parameters, wherein the set of clear images comprises one clear image for each SKU code; - extracting, by the processing unit [206], a product label for each SKU code from the each clear image in the set of clear images; - storing, by the processing unit [206] in a memory unit [208], the product label for each SKU code; - scanning, by a second scanner [210], the UID code present on the one or more return products; - identifying, by the processing unit [206], a target product label for each return product of the one or more return products in the memory unit [208] based on the UID code present on the one or more return products; and - printing, by a printing unit [212], the target product label for each return product to be affixed on the each return product of the one or more return products.

Specification

We claim:
1. A method for generating a product label to be affixed on one or more return products, the method comprising:
- scanning, by a first scanner [202], a unique identity (UID) code
present on one or more products,
wherein
the UID code is associated with a product code and a stock keeping
unit (SKU) code;
- capturing, by an image-capturing device [204], one or more images of each of the one or more products;
- associating, by a processing unit [206], each image of the one or more images with the UID code of the product of the image;
- selecting, by the processing unit [206], a set of clear images from the one or more images based on one or more parameters, wherein the set of clear images comprises one clear image for each SKU code;
- extracting, by the processing unit [206], a product label for each SKU code from the each clear image in the set of clear images;
- storing, by the processing unit [206] in a memory unit [208], the product label for each SKU code;
- scanning, by a second scanner [210], the UID code present on the one or more return products;
- identifying, by the processing unit [206], a target product label for each return product of the one or more return products in the memory unit [208] based on the UID code present on the one or more return products; and
- printing, by a printing unit [212], the target product label for each return product to be affixed on the each return product of the one or more return products.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein prior to printing, by the
printing unit [212], the target product label to be affixed on the return
product, the method comprises:
- sending, by the processing unit [206] to a central server [214], a set of details of the printing unit [212]; and
- saving, by the central server [214], the set of details received from the processing unit [206].

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein prior to scanning, by the first scanner [202], the UID code present on the product, the method comprises placing the products on a conveyor system [216].
4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein prior to storing, by the processing unit [206] in the memory unit [208], the product label, the method comprises processing, by the processing unit [206], the product label.
5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the processing includes cropping the product label off the product image, straightening the product image, and cleaning the product image for reprinting.
6. A system for generating a product label to be affixed on one or more return products, the system comprising:
- a first scanner [202] configured to:
o scan a unique identity (UID) code present on one or more
products,
wherein
the UID code is associated with a product code and an SKU code;
- an image-capturing device [204] configured to:
o capture one or more images of each of the one or more products;
- a processing unit [206] configured to:

o associate each image of the one or more images with the UID
code of the product of the image; o select a set of clear images from the one or more images
based on one or more parameters, wherein the set of clear
images comprises one clear image for each SKU code; o extract a product label for each SKU code from the each clear
image in the set of clear images; o store, in a memory unit [208], the product label for each SKU
code;
- a second scanner [210] configured to:
o scan the UID code present on the one or more return products; the processing unit [206] further configured to identify a target product label for each return product of the one or more return products in the memory unit [208] based on the UID code present on the one or more return products; and
- a printing unit [212] configured to:
o print the target product label for each return product to be affixed on the each return product of the one or more return products.
7. The system as claimed in claim 6, the system further comprising a central
server [214] connected to the processing unit [206], wherein prior to
printing, by the printing unit [212], the target product label to be affixed
on the return product, the central server [214] is configured to:
- receive, from the processing unit [206], a set of details of the printing unit [212]; and
- save the set of details received from the processing unit [206].
8. The system as claimed in claim 6, wherein the first scanner [202] is
configured to scan the UID code present on the product placed on a

conveyor system [216].
9. The system as claimed in claim 6, wherein the processing unit [206] is configured to process the product label prior to storing the product label in the memory unit [208].
10. The system as claimed in claim 9, wherein the processing unit [206] for processing the product label, is configured to crop out the product label off the product image, straighten the product image, and clean the product image for reprinting.
