Method For Transmitting Data Packets In A Sensory Network

Abstract: A method for transmitting data packets associated with a priority event, across a sensory network is disclosed. The method involves receiving the data packet from a source node by a forwarding node. Further, the forwarding node determines a direction of traffic. The direction of traffic is determined using a position and a unique identification number of the forwarding node. Further, the forwarding node identifies whether the data packet is a duplicate. If the data packet is not duplicate, then the data packet is forwarded in the direction of the destination node.

Specification

WE CLAIM:
1. A method of forwarding data packets in a sensory network, the method comprising:
receiving, by a forwarding node, a data packet corresponding to a priority event,
wherein the data packet is received from a source node and is intended to be sent to a destination node, and wherein the forwarding node indicates an intermediary node in the sensory network situated between the source node and the destination node;
determining, by the forwarding node, direction of the data packet, and duplication of the data packet received at the forwarding node, wherein the direction of the data packet is determined using position of the forwarding node in the sensory network; and
forwarding, by the forwarding node, the data packet based on the position of the forwarding node and the direction of the data packet.
2. The method of claim 1, further comprising ignoring the data packet when the forwarding node determines that the data packet is duplicate.
3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the position of the forwarding node in the sensory network is determined based on an identification of the forwarding node.
4. The method as claimed in claim 3, wherein each node in the sensory network is provided with a unique identification number.
5. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising detecting a failure Status from a neighbour node to forward the data packet, wherein the failure Status indicates inability to forward the data packet, and wherein the forwarding node forwards the data packet to another neighbour node to send the data packet to the destination node.
6. A sensory network for forwarding data packets, the sensory network comprises a plurality of nodes, wherein each of the nodes is configured to:
receive a data packet corresponding to a priority event, wherein the data packet is received from a source node and is intended to be sent to a destination node, and wherein the node indicates an intermediary node in the sensory network situated between the source node and the destination node;

determine direction of the data packet, and duplication of the data packet received at the node, wherein the direction of the data packet is determined using position of the node in the sensory network; and
forward the data packet based on the position of the node and the direction of the data packet.
7. The sensory network as claimed in 6, wherein the node ignores the data packet when the data packet is determined to be a duplicate.
8. The sensory network as claimed in 6, wherein the position of the node in the sensory network is determined based on identification of the node.
9. The sensory network as claimed in 8, wherein each node in the sensory network is provided with a unique identification number.
