Multi Stage Variable Length Intermediate Steering Shaft Assembly
Abstract: Abstract MULTI-STAGE VARIABLE LENGTH INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT ASSEMBLY A multistage steering shaft is designed for torque transmission in vehicle and also to provide the required large length of the column during high cabin tilt movement in heavy motor vehicles while meeting the smaller length of column during driving condition. The multistage steering shaft relates to use of multiple stages of extension in sequential controlled manner. The multistage steering shaft comprises a spline tube, an extension tube, a plunger, and pins. The spline tube is connected to a yoke of the spline tube and the extension tube. The extension tube is positioned between the spline tube and a spline shaft. The plunger is positioned at distal end of the extension tube, which is stuck in a groove to restrict the spline shaft from disengagement. The pins are positioned between the spline shaft and the plunger to restrict the extension tube from sliding during the driving condition.
