Optical Media Having A Water Resistant Ink Jet Printable Surface
Abstract: [0001] An optical media having a water resistant ink-jet printable surface is provided. The optical media includes a disk shaped substrate having a first surface and a second surface, an optical read/write layer bonded to the first surface, and an ink-jet printable layer bonded to the second surface. The ink-jet printable layer includes polysiloxane, which makes the ink-jet layer hydrophobic and thereby resistant to moisture. A method of manufacturing the optical media is also provided.
