Optimization Of Rotor Claw For Improved Efficiency In An Electric Machine

Abstract: The present invention discloses an optimized claw pole electrical machine (100) using chamfers and fillet, characterized by a magnetized portion; an angular exciting coil placed around the shaft of the machine. The two claws comprise fingers which are inserted between two claws of opposite pole pieces. The said machine after optimization improves the saliency ratio, to achieve high torque/ampere and constant power speed range of the machine. The chamfer and fillet are at the edge of the claw fingers which optimizes the machine to reduce high-frequency noise due to vibration generated by air gap magnetic force.
