Percutaneous Aortic Valve Tehnology

Abstract: A Transcatheter Aortic Valve device comprises a proximal ring which is of zig-zag design pattern provides an anchorage for the transcatheter aortic valve device at the targeted location, and a distal ring comparatively larger in size than the proximal ring provides an additional anchorage for the transcatheter aortic valve device. The proximal ring and the distal ring are interlocked to each other to provide adequate radial outward force thereby preventing the transcatheter aortic valve device migration from the located position to other position. The distal ring is divided into a scaffold region which is designed in such a way to contour the exact shape of a tri leaflet valve and a stabilizer region to perform the function of orienting the transcatheter aortic valve device. The proximal ring and the distal ring are fabricated from single nitinol wire which will be welded at only one point to reduce the influence of welding which degrades the material property of the nitinol wire.
