Specification

The present invention relates to a process for preparing activated carbon-based composition (acting as antibacterial, ammonia/ bad odour absorbent, deodorizer) to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls.
Background of the invention:
[0002] Germs that cause infection, can spread quickly from person to person, especially in washrooms where many people come in contact and touch the same surfaces. Especially public restrooms are often just humid enough to keep bacteria's and microorganisms growing and thriving on toilets, sinks and other surfaces.
[0003] Regular sanitation helps reduce the transmission of these microorganisms. A urine-based infection is commonly ignored as a transmission route of several diseases. Besides the toilet, urinals are often provided in public and domestic toilets for male users which could cause several health issues.
[0004] Dampness in the urinals provides appropriate environment for growth of different microbes which may result in air borne infections. Some strains of E. coli (Escherichia coli) bacteria can cause bloody diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, and dysentery etc. linger around on toilet surfaces for longer durations, thereby increasing the chances of infections. Bad odour associated with urine badly affects the performance of urinals. The enzyme urease hydrolyses the urea present in urine into ammonia and carbonate.
[0005] Naphthalene and strong acids are used for cleaning conventional urinals pollute the wastewater produced. Some of them are carcinogenic in nature.
[0006] US5336424A relates to an improved urinal block composition comprised of fluid-soluble chemical components, and an improved dispenser to be used with that urinal block. Specifically, the present invention is directed to a unique combination of chemicals that when blended together to form a urinal block composition yields a stable product that is effective at

deodorizing and cleaning urinals and toilets. The improvement of using an acid stable protease enzyme with the other fluid-soluble chemical components of the urinal block composition provides the advantage of dissolving and otherwise neutralizing odors associated with urinals and toilets. The urinal block is retained in and dispensable from a disposable dispenser assembly 10 for use in urinals and toilets. The urinal block is protected from direct action of urine by a retention cup 18 which retains the chemical block composition 32 in position, and the inner hollow area 12 of the dispenser 10 allows the dispenser 10 to fit around strainers found in urinals. The dispenser has a perforated flange 20 that supports the hollow area 12 and retention cup 18 within the urinal, while also allowing for effective drainage.
[0007] Most of the existing processes do not have the properties of deodorization, odour/free ammonia absorption and antibacterial.
[0008] Accordingly, there remains a need to develop a process for preparing activated carbon-based composition (acting as antibacterial, ammonia/ bad odour absorbent and deodorizer) to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls.
Objects of the invention:
[0009] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0010] An object of the present invention is to provide a process for preparing activated carbon-based composition (acting as antibacterial, ammonia/ bad odour absorbent and deodorizer) to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a deodorizing unit which helps to absorb the bad odour/free ammonia and acts as an antibacterial to kill harmful air-borne microorganisms which is responsible for the several diseases.
[0012] Another object of the present invention is to provide cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls that are a replacement of commonly used naphthalene balls which neither absorb the free ammonia of urine nor kill bacteri.
[0013] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a process that kills bacteria present in urine and provides a clean hygienic, ammonia/foul odor free environment.

[0014] The foregoing and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
Summary of the invention:
[0015] The present invention relates to process for preparing activated carbon-based composition (acting as antibacterial, ammonia/ bad odour absorbent and deodorizer) to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls.
[0016] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the process for preparing activated carbon-based composition to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls, comprises the steps of;
a. employing about 24 gms of binder in a beaker;
b. adding about 74 gms of activated carbon powder and about 2 gms of metallic oxide into
the beaker;
c. mixing ingredients of steps a and b all thoroughly at room temperature;
d. filling the mould with the mixture of step c and applying pressure for 2-5 minutes; and
e. Removing the pressure and retrieving the final carbon brick.
Brief Description of Drawings:
[0017] Embodiments of the disclosure will be described by way of example only with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 illustrates the flow diagram of the present process.
Brief description of invention:
[0018] The present invention will now be described herein after with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which some, but not all embodiments of the invention are shown. While the following description details the preferred embodiments of the present invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and arrangement of the parts illustrated in the accompanying drawings. With reference to the figures, the enclosed description and drawings are merely illustrative of preferred embodiments and represent several different ways of configuring the present invention. Although specific components, materials, configurations and uses of the present invention are illustrated and set forth in this

disclosure, it should be understood that a number of variations to the components and to the configuration of those components described herein and in the accompanying figures can be made without changing the scope and function of the invention set forth herein.
[0019] The present invention relates to a process for preparing activated carbon-based composition (acting as antibacterial, ammonia/ bad odour absorbent and deodorizer) to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls.
[0020] The process for preparing activated carbon-based composition to form cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls, comprises the steps of; employing about 24 gms of binder in a beaker; adding about 74 gms of activated carbon powder and about 2 gms of metallic oxide into the beaker; mixing ingredients of steps a and b all, thoroughly at room temperature; filling the mould with the mixture of step c and applying pressure for 2-5 minutes; and removing the pressure and retrieving the final carbon brick.
[0021] A deodorizing unit which helps to absorb the bad odour/free ammonia and acts as an antibacterial to kill harmful air-borne microorganisms which is responsible for the several diseases.
[0022] The cake/balls/blocks for urinals bowls that are a replacement of commonly used naphthalene balls which neither absorb the free ammonia of urine nor kill bacteria.
[0023] As will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, the present embodiment may easily be produced in other specific forms without departing from its essential characteristics. The present embodiments are, therefore, to be considered as merely illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of the invention being indicated by the claims rather than the foregoing description, and all changes which come within therefore intended to be embraced therein.

We claim:
1. A process for preparing activated carbon-based composition to form cake/balls/blocks for
