, Description:Technical Field
The present invention pertains to the user authentication on the website portal through chatbot.
Background of the present invention
Automation of services has picked up its fastest pace by now, giving users the much needed facility to fulfill their regular tasks. With advanced systems powered by automated solutions, users can now book a restaurant reservation, order a pizza, book a movie ticket, hotel room and even make a clinic appointment. Customer service industry is gaining much momentum especially due to disruption of Artificial Intelligence – a technological breakthrough that has taken almost every business industry by storm.
The chatbot is a part of AI revolution that is spanning almost all technology fields. The chatbot is the mainly the personalized AI gateway which is capable of handling or managing the tasks for the single individual or may be a group of people. This mainly reduces certain task for the user such as booking, ordering, delivering a message etc. This task mainly requires the user’s details and knowledge about the requirements of the user. However once they are fed into the chatbot, then the said chatbot is capable of managing such task for the user.
Prior art discloses the invention wherein the AI bots manages the general task s for the user such as ticket booking, food or commodity ordering etc. However, the prior art fails to provide the way in which the task as crucial as online verification and authenticaton is performed by the AI bots especially the chatbots on the computing devices of the user.
The present invention disclosed herein provides the means to facilitate the user authentication after initial registration of the user through the chatbot interface of the website.
Objective of the present invention
The present invention objects to facilitate the website authentication process through the chatbot interface instead of website portal.
Another object of the present invention is to facilitate the website authentication process through individual chatbot interface which is linked to the website chatbot system.
Summary of the present invention
The present invention pertains to the user authentication for the website portal. After registration on the website portal, in the next login, the website access requires the user authentication which is established by providing the same username and password set during the registration. In the present invention, the user authentication is carried out through the chatbot. Every website has its own chatbot system on its server. When the website portal is opened, the chatbot interface of the website is also displayed on the screen wherein the user authentication is managed through chat interface itself.
In the present invention, the user provides the username which is registered to the chat interface of the said website or his personal chat application. This username is authenticated by the chatbot by sending the OTP to the registered mobile number and the email address of the user. The OTP received is again provided to the chat interface by the user wherein the chat interface verifies whether the provided OTP is same as that sent to the user. If OTP matches, the chatbot of the website facilitates the login into the website portal wherein the website portal with user’s account is displayed on the screen.. In the present invention, the chat interface is capable of managing the user authentication for login every time the user visits the website wherein the chatbot provides the new OTP as the password for login for each single login by the user. This way the user is not required to remember the password and only needs to provide the username on the chat interface itself. Thus the user’s authentication is managed by the chatbot of the website through the chat interface instead of the website portal itself. Also the user can be authenticated via his personal chat application which can communicate with amazon chat application.

Detailed description of the invention
The present invention pertains to the user authentication on the websites wherein the authentication is managed by the chatbot interface.
The embodiment of the present invention includes the use of chatbot for user registration on the websites which requires the registration before the access to the website. The user uses the chatbot interface of the website for authentication instead of direct website login portal.
The embodiment of the present invention includes the use of chat interface of the chatbot of a website. Such websites are shopping website or food delivery websites which require user account generation before availing the services or use of website. Such account is generated through user registration on the website portal by providing the user details and generating the username and password for consecutive logins into the website account. The consecutive logins are authenticated every time by username and password established during the user registration. In the present invention, this authentication of the user is carried out by the chatbot of the website through the chat interface wherein the username and password is provided to the chatbot interface of the website and not on the website page
In the present disclosure, when the user visits the website portal, the login page is opened with simultaneous opening of the chatbot interface box. This chat interface is capable of managing the authentication of the user for the login. The user provided the username on the chat interface wherein the chatbot verifies the username followed by sending the OTP to the registered mobile number or email of the user. The user is then required to feed the OTP on the chat interface wherein the chatbot verifies whether the provided OTP is same as that sent to the user. Once the OTP is verified, the user is authenticated for login where the user is directed to the website page of the user’s account wherein the webpage will comprise of the logout option and the user’s name displayed on the webpage which will be similar to the login with the website’s user login portal.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the authentication is done through the OTP input wherein OTP is provided to the user every time the user visits the website for login; which implies that every time new password is used for login of the user on the said website. This benefits the user with no necessity to remember the password for every login. The new OTP provided everytime is feed onto the chat interface which then completes the authentication process for the user. Alternatively, the password can also be set for the login which can be used for authentication by providing it on the chat interface or the website login page.
In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the input of the password or the OTP can be hided or covered wherein the password or OTP is displayed as asterix (*) while typing on the website portal or the chat interface. This helps to preserve the secrecy of the password or the OTP to insure the security of the website account.
In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the authentication is also possible through the third-party authentication such as Google authenticator software if the same is supported by the website server of the said website.
In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the individual chatbot of the user is also capable of interacting with chatbot of the website wherein the individual chatbot of the user communicates with the chatbot of the website were the user wishes to authenticate himself/herself. In such case, the individual chatbot sends the authentication request to the website chatbot after which the website chatbot manages the authentication process of for the user as mentioned above.
Example 1
Consider user X with a chatbot on his computing device say laptop. The user X wishes to shop online and thus opens the online shopping website say Flipkart. In such case, the chatbot of the Flipkart is opened on the website screen in the form of chat interface box. The user X is required to provide the username on the chat interface itself after which the OTP is sent to the user X’s mobile number. This OTP is provided to the chat interface of the website wherein chatbot itself verifies the OTP provided and the OTP received after which the user X is authenticated for login. The chatbot itself authenticates the user X and directs the user X to the Flipkart account page of the user X wherein the user X’s name is displayed on the screen. This way the user is authenticated through the chatbot itself without any input of username or the set password on the website login portal. In case the user uses only password or OTP keyword the next word shall be considered as password and shall be displayed in ‘*’
