Providing Announcements In A Communication Network

Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a method for providing announcements by a home location register (HLR). In one implementation the HLR receives a provide announcement request from a service control point (SCP) to initiate communication with a communication device. On receiving the provide announcement request the HLR identifies at least one announcement to be played on the communication device based on the provide announcement request. Subsequently the HLR generates a service message based on the at least one announcement and provides the service message to the communication device.
