Server, Request Entity, And Method Therefor

Abstract: In the present invention, a first server (7) attempts to specify, on the basis of one or more selection criteria, a second server (5) disposed in an edge data network (4), in response to receiving, from a request entity (2), a request for connection to an entity that provides a service on the edge network (4). The one or more selection criteria include the congestion state of the server disposed in the edge network (4). If the second server (5) can be specified, the first server (7) transmits at least information about the second server (5) to the request entity (2). If the second server (5) cannot be specified, the first server (7) transmits a rejection message indicating that the second server could not be specified to the request entity (2). This invention can contribute to, for example, provision of selection criteria appropriate for specifying an edge server.
