FIG 2 illustrates a flow sheet for method of single QR code generation for multiple access codes at the restricted area.
Detailed description of the invention
The present invention relates to the method of generating a single QR code for multiple datasets wherein each dataset has its own specific data codes.
The dataset mentioned here can be related to any information which may include the information with contact details, URL, discount coupons, access permit, voting etc. The present invention provides the method to generate the QR code which codes for selected datasets pertaining to one type of information. Each dataset also has its own specific data code which makes it unique among the dataset pool. The QR code generated codes the data codes of the selected datasets containing one type of information. The information contained in each dataset can then be availed by the user with just one QR code. The QR code is decoded with scanning of the QR code with any scanning device.
Referring to FIG.1, it illustrates the flow sheet with example of offer coupons as the datasets pertaining to any one merchandise or brand. The coupons are provided on the application which can be installed in any computation device like laptop, smartphone etc. 101. The user provided with multiple coupons can select the coupons according to his/her choice of offer provided by the coupon. 102. The selected coupons are nothing but the datasets wherein each coupon has its own data code which makes it unique in the pool of datasets. A QR code is generated within the same application 103 wherein the said QR code codes for the selected coupons. The QR code generated is stored in the database of the same application used to generate the QR code 105. Once the QR code is generated it is then used for availing the coupon offer or redeeming the coupon at the POS (point of sale) for that particular merchandise. The QR code generated is scanned by any scanning device 105 like the one used for scanning ID cards or access cards etc. After scanning of the QR code the coupons with their unique data codes coded in the QR code are redeemed at the POS 106 and the respective offer of the coupon is availed by the user. After redemption of the selected coupons a information is sent to the application database which then registers the redemption activity of the selected database so as to avoid the re-use of the same coupons 107.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the coupons provided on the application to one user can be transferred through wireless network to other user which can be among any acquaintances of the original user. After generation of the QR code, the said QR code can be sent to the other user through wireless network like wifi, Bluetooth and like; or it can also be posted on the social media sites for group of interested people. 108. The sharing or transfer is mainly by taking the photo or the screen shot of the generated QR code and then send it through the share media option on the computation device. The other user with the clear image of the QR code can also avail the coupon by scanning the said image with any scanning device 109. The other user is now able to redeem the coupon at the POS of the respective merchandise. After redemption, the coupon redeeming entry is made into the application database of the original user so as to prevent the re-use of the availed coupons.110.
Referring to FIG 2, it illustrates the flow sheet wherein the present invention can be used to generate the QR code for the access codes which have the access information required at any entry restricted areas like government and defense embodiments, banks etc. Such areas are entry restricted for outsiders and require a specific access code to avail the entry. Also different departments or sections in such embodiments have access restricted wherein each department or section has unique access code. The outsiders are provided with only the access codes of the departments or section they intend to visit for their work. At such instance, a single QR code can be generated for multiple selected access codes for different departments/sections instead of providing the visitor with different QR codes for each access codes.
The application on the computation device contains multiple access codes for different departments or section in one building.201. The required access codes where the visitor need the entry are selected 202. After selection of the access codes, the single QR code is generated through the application for set of multiple access codes. 203. Once the single QR code is generated it is then provided to the visitor or the user. The visitor can now gain the access for the selected departments or sections in the restricted area by scanning the said QR code with any scanning device such as barcode or ID scanner at the gateway of each department/section. 205. The QR code generated is also stored in the application database 204.
The working of the present invention can be explained with following examples
Example 1 : Issue of Discount vouchers using method of generation of QR code of this system
The system of the present invention can be put to use for redemption of the discount coupons. The discount coupons are available on applications that provide various discount coupons for different merchandise and brands. This coupons are redeemed by visiting at the POS (Point of Sale) for that specific merchandise store. This coupons are however non- transferable and cannot be shared. This often leads to wastage of the coupons if the original user is not able to avail them on time. The system of the present invention facilitates the transfer or sharing of the discount coupons with other users like friends or acquaintances. The transfer is mainly through wireless network on any computing device. The discount coupons are transferable through generation of QR code. Certain discount coupons are selected through the application. A single QR code is generated for the multiple selected coupons. This code is shared through the wireless network. This QR code is scanned by any scanning device after which the multiple discount coupons coded by the said QR code are obtained which can then be redeemed at the POS by the other user. This QR code can also be shared on the social media sites where the coded coupons can be redeemed through the QR codes.
Example 2: Issue of access card using method of generation of QR code of this system.
The system of the present invention can be used to obtain the limited access through the entry restricted area such as government or defense embodiments. Every department or section in such embodiments have specific access codes for the entry. The visitor needs to have access to this codes for the entry. The system of the present invention can be used in such instances where a single QR code can be generated for the selected multiple access codes where the entry is required. Such QR code is scanned through any scanning device at the gateway. After scanning the access can be obtained to the department or the section with the access code which is coded by the QR code. Such QR code can be provided to the visitor wherein he has the access to only selected departments with its access code coded in the provided QR code. This avoids the need to issue different QR codes for different access codes to the visitor.
