Specification

DESC:Technical field
The present invention pertains to the use of QR code in retail shopping. More particularly, it relates to the use of QR code to simplify the billing process of the products in the supermarket.
Background of the invention
In the today's times, the shopping is more through the supermarket setup than through the individual shops and merchants. The success of a retail store such as supermarket depends on maintaining customer's satisfaction. To this end, retailers strive to make a customer's shopping experience as efficient and effortless within the strict cost constraints.
Super markets avails to the customer's or user's all kinds of products and items from all genre like food, clothing, cosmetics, healthcare, interior, stationary, grocery etc. Customers shopping in such supermarkets have long shopping cart list wherein each product in the cart is scanned for the product details and the price. This generates the invoice or the bill which is then payed at the billing counter through cash, debit card, credit card etc. The super market though makes the shopping easier and effortless, the billing system still creates a haste with customer requiring to stand in long queues for billing whether its cash or card payment. This creates a unnecessary crowding at the checkout and billing counters in the supermarkets.
Also now-a-days there are many supermarkets opening up with every supermarket having different arrangement and setup according to the space available. Any customer visiting the supermarket for first time has the maximum chance of not finding his desired product in such huge market which creates the difficulty for the customer.
These makes the space for the technology to facilitate the easy and direct billing system for large number of shopping cart items for single customer. Also there is need for mapping of the products in the supermarket such that the locations of the all products in the market are available to the customer.
The prior art provides the systems for direct bar-code scanning of the products with direct listing of purchased products followed by the online payment like Paytm or PayPal. However the prior art fails to provide any invention which provides the scanning and listing of the individual items followed by generation of QR code which creates billing invoice such that the bill payment can be online as well as through cash payment.
The present invention provides the application of the supermarket on the device such that application provides the direct scanning of the bar-code or the QR code on the product while purchasing it along with simultaneous generation of the list with each purchase of the product by the customer. It also provides the QR code generation for all products and thus the invoice for the customer's bill. The present invention also provides the location of various products in the supermarket on the application making shopping easier for the customer.
Objective of the Invention
The present invention objects to provide the application for billing of the shopping products through QR code generation with simultaneous buying of the products.
Another object of the present invention is to provides the application with location information of all the products in the supermarket.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide application with quick adding and cancelling system of a product with just re-scanning of the product to be cancelled or added.
Summary of the invention
The present invention pertains to the use of QR code in wholesale/retail shopping. More particularly, it relates to the use of QR code to simplify the billing process of the products in the wholesale/retail supermarket.
The present invention provides the application for product billing through QR code such that the purchased products are listed and billed on the application with simultaneous buying of the products by the customer. The present invention also provides the location information of all products in the supermarket which makes the shopping easier for the customers.
The present invention also provides the unique cancelling system on the device application such that the customer can cancel the billing of the picked-up but undesirable product.
Customer or user installs an application in his devices or the supermarket has a device embedded on the shopping cart. In case the user has installed the super mart application on his mobile, he has features like searching a physical location of the product in the supermarket. He can select the products which he intends to purchase and scan through the application. He can scan bar-code or QR code as displayed on each product. By scanning the barcode on the product, a product list is being made on the application with the product image, which in turn will help to generate the invoice. In case the purchaser decided to remove a product from the cart all he has to do is to scan again and product removal process is initiated in the application. The purchaser confirms to remove the product from the purchase list. Post the purchase process is complete, the purchaser can click on generate invoice button, which would generate a QR code, which has details of the all selected product in the cart. In case the purchaser wish to make offline payment, the QR code is displayed to the invoice generator, who scans the QR code and the application lists all of items with price and product description which are required for the invoice generator in his desktop or POS. The purchaser make an offline payment through cash or cards, as it suites him. The purchaser will also have an option to make an online payment via a kiosk or application. A virtual invoice copy shall always be available with the purchaser.
The above process will help to reduce the time take for invoicing, he can save time spend in long queues for invoicing, especially during weekends or festival days. Purchasers will be empowered to select their products and generate invoice, which in turn creates a QR code with all product details in one QR code.
For security reason, the count of physical goods might be cross verified by security guard at the exit, which happens even today.
Brief Description of the drawing
FIG 1 illustrates the flow chart for the process of billing multiple products with generation of single QR code.
Detailed description of the invention
The present invention pertains to the shopping application which facilitates the direct listing and billing of the products during shopping through QR code generation. The present invention also provides the location information of the products in the supermarket which facilitates the easy finding of the particular product looked for by the customer.
Referring FIG 1, it illustrates the process of listing and billing of the products during shopping with generation of single QR code for multiple products which is then used for generation of invoice or bill for the payment. The customer can install the supermarket application 102 of the present invention on his mobile device 101. Even the supermarket can provide the device embedded shopping cart to the customer. The customer selects or picks up the desirable products 103 while shopping with simultaneous scanning of the bar-code or QR code on the product 104 through the application device. This generates list of products in the application along with its image 105 purchased by the customer. After the purchase is completed, the customer can obtain the invoice 106 by pressing the invoice option on the application device. This is followed by single QR code generation 107 containing all the product details and the total bill price to be paid. The customer can now go for online payment option 112 where the payment is directly through the provided device application or through kiosk 113. The customer is also enabled to make the off-line payment 108 wherein the single QR code generator is scanned at the billing counter 109 by the invoice generator. This displays all the product and bill details of the customer's shopping at the billing counter desktop or device 110. The customer can now pay offline through cash or card 111.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the present invention facilitates the addition and removal of the product from the purchase list 114 in case the customer decides to cancel the picked-up product or is unwilling to buy the selected product; alternatively decides to buy a particular product for more than one time . In this instance, the product to be cancelled or purchased again is re-scanned for its bar-code or QR code 115 after which the application provides the option for canceling or adding the re-scanned product. Once the customer clicks on the required button of Add or Cancel, the process for removal or addition of the product from the list is initiated 116. This avoids the unnecessary haste for product cancellation of the customer and also helps to buy the same product in multiple quantity.
Example 1
Suppose the customer goes to the Supermarket X. The customer has the application for the supermarket X. He opens the application wherein he gets the location of all
the products in the supermarket which helps the customer to easily find his desired product. The customer picks up the product A, he then scans bar-code or QR code on the product X. This adds the product X to the list of shopping on the application. The customer picks up different products and they all get added on the list like B,C,D....etc. After the completion of the customer's shopping, the customer can generate the invoice by pressing the invoice option on the application. The invoice is generated on the application along with generation of single QR code. The single QR code codes for all the product list and their respective price and other details. The invoice generated shows the total bill of all the shopping by the customer. The customer can now make the payment online through the application itself. The customer is also enabled to make offline payment wherein he scans the single QR code generated along with the invoice at the payment counter. The scanning displays the invoice on the customer's application on the counter desktop. The customer can now make the payment by cash or card at the counter. This avoids the long queue at the counter wherein the present invention creates the bill with just scanning of single QR code at the counter.
