Skin Lightening Composition
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and compositions for skin care, in particular, a cosmetic composition for skin lightening comprising oxyresveratrol and resveratrol. The present invention also provides methods for using the composition for producing skin lightening and skin whitening effects.

Specification
CLIAMS:1. A cosmetic composition for skin lightening comprising oxyresveratrol and resveratrol, wherein oxyresveratrol and resveratrol are present in a weight ratio in the range of 0. 5:1 to 1:0.75.
2. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein oxyresveratrol and resveratrol weight ratio is 1:1.
3. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said cosmetic composition additionally comprises a cosmetically acceptable carrier.
4. The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein said cosmetically acceptable carrier is selected from the group consisting of 1,3-butylene glycol, steric acid, glycerin, cetostearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, glyceryl stearate, triethanoloamine, tocopheryl acetate, liquid paraffin, squalene, macadamia nut oil, preservatives, and mixtures thereof.

The cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said cosmetic composition is formulated in a form selected from the group consisting of cream, lotion, gel, emulsion, foundation, serum, patch, liquid, ointment, spray, moisturizer, emollients, humectants, skin care product, anti-aging product, sunscreen, after-sun product, facial scrub, facial peels, and a topically-administrable composition.
6. A method for skin lightening, said method comprising topical administration of the cosmetic composition as claimed in claim 1.
7.The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein oxyresveratrol and resveratrol weight ratio in the cosmetic composition is 1:1.
