Abstract: The present invention provides a support stand (100) for holding and supporting a portable electronic gadget including battery-operated charging units (portable batteries), solar charging units and portable LED lamps. The support stand (100) is fixed on a housing (10) of the portable electronic gadget. The support stand (100) comprises a bracket (20), a bearing (30), a shaft (50), a fixed member (60), a moving member (70), an anchor (80) and at least two springs (90). The support stand (100) allows user to keep the portable electronic gadget like solar charging unit in different positions based on the availability of most possible sunlight. The support stand (100) helps to adjust the position of the portable electronic gadget like the LED lamp to focus light in different directions as per requirement.
DESC:Field of the invention:
The present invention generally relates to devices used for supporting or holding portable electronic gadgets including, but not limited thereto, portable charging units like batteries, solar chargers, and more particularly, to a support stand for a portable solar charging unit and a LED lamp.
Background of the invention:
With the rapid development of various electronic gadgets, a use of portable charging units like batteries, solar chargers is highly increasing. The portable charging units require supporting or holding devices as per a user’s convenience. In case of the portable solar chargers, they need supporting or holding devices that can be arranged in different positions based on the direction of sunlight. Also, in case of LED lamp, the same supporting or holding device enables the user to focus light in different directions as per requirement.
There are various types of stands, brackets, bags etc. available in the market for supporting or holding the charging units. But, most of them have less durability. Also they are less convenient to use because of limitations in their arrangement according to change in directions of the sunlight.
Similar limitations are observed in case of the stands, brackets, bags etc. available in the market for portable LED lamps with regards to their durability and also their flexibility while dispersing light in various directions and at various angles.
Hence, there is a need to develop a multifunction support stand for the portable solar charging unit and LED lamp, but not limited thereto, with enhanced durability and more convenient to handle.
Objects of the invention:
An object of the present invention is to develop a multifunctional support stand for a portable electronic gadget.
Another object of the present invention is to develop the support stand that aligns the portable electronic gadget like solar charging unit at various angles based on an irradiating line of sunlight.
Yet, another object of the present invention is to develop the support stand that enables the user to focus light in different directions as per requirement.
Further object of the present invention is to provide protection to the main body of the portable electronic gadget.
Summary of the invention:
Accordingly, the present invention provides a support stand (hereinafter referred as ‘the stand’) used for holding a portable electronic gadget. The portable electronic gadget is selected from any one of portable charging units including batteries, solar charging unit and LED lamp. The stand is fixed on a housing of the portable electronic gadget. The stand comprises of a bracket, a bearing, a shaft, a fixed member, a moving member, an anchor and at least two springs (hereinafter referred as ‘the springs’).
The bracket is in rectangular shape with one side open. The bracket has an opening configured centrally at a closed side and two openings configured at each end of the open side thereof. The openings are used for attaching a lanyard to carry and/or to hold the portable electronic gadget. The bracket has two screw threads fitted centrally at each of two vertical sides thereof. The screw threads are adapted for allowing the bracket to be mounted on and/or to be fixed with a camera. The bracket rests on the bearing. The bearing allows the bracket to rotate freely without damaging the housing.
The shaft is positioned at a centre of the bracket. The shaft has teeth configured equidistantly at 360 degrees thereon. The fixed member is placed to get locked with the shaft to align and keep the shaft in place. The moving member is placed to get locked with the teeth to hold and/or align the portable electronic gadget in different slanting positions at various angles. The fixed member and the moving member are fitted by snap fitting. The anchor is connected with the moving member via the springs. The springs allow motion of the moving member to change position of the portable electronic gadget and provide enough tension to hold the portable electronic gadget.

Detailed description of the embodiments:
The foregoing objects of the present invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with the prior art, techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention as described below in the preferred embodiments.
The present invention provides a support stand for a portable electronic gadget. The support stand helps to align the portable electronic gadget at different angles based on a user’s accessibility.
The present invention is illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, throughout which reference numbers indicate corresponding parts in the various figures. These reference numbers are shown in brackets in the following description.
Referring to figures 1 and 2, a support stand (100) (hereinafter referred as ‘the stand (100)’) in accordance with the present invention is shown. In an embodiment, the stand (100) is used for holding and supporting a portable electronic gadget (not shown) including battery-operated charging units (portable batteries), solar charging units and portable LED lamps. In a preferred embodiment, the stand (100) is used for holding and supporting a portable solar charging unit and a LED lamp. Specifically, the stand (100) used for holding and supporting the portable solar charging unit and the LED lamp is described hereinafter below.
The stand (100) is fixed on a housing (10) of the portable electronic gadget. The stand (100) comprises a bracket (20), a bearing (30), a shaft (50), a fixed member (60), a moving member (70), an anchor (80) and at least two springs (90) (hereinafter referred as ‘the springs (90)’).
The bracket (20) is in rectangular shape with one side open. An opening (12) is configured at a centre of a closed side of the bracket (20). Two other openings (14) are configured at each end (not numbered) of the open side of the bracket (20). The openings (12, 14) are used for attaching a lanyard (not shown) to carry and/or to hold the portable electronic gadget. The bracket (20) is fitted with two screw threads (16) (Refer figure 2) at the centre of each of two vertical sides (not numbered) of the bracket (20). In an embodiment, the screw threads (16) are 1/4inch-20 UNC threads. The screw threads (16) are adapted for allowing the bracket (20) to be mounted on a tripod (not shown) and/or to be fixed with a camera (not shown) or any other device.
The bracket (20) rests on the bearing (30). The bearing (30) allows the bracket (20) to rotate freely without damaging the housing (10). The shaft (50) is positioned at a centre of the bracket (20). The shaft (50) has teeth (40) that are configured equidistantly at 360 degrees thereon. The fixed member (60) and the moving member (70) are fitted by snap fitting. The fixed member (60) gets locked with the shaft (50) in a way to align and keep the shaft (50) in place. The teeth (40) get locked the moving member (70). Specifically, the teeth (40) get locked with teeth (not shown) on the moving member (70). Due to the locking action of the teeth (40), the portable electronic gadget keeps when aligned in a particular slanting position remains sturdy. The moving member (70) is connected to the anchor (80) with the springs (90) having a specific stiffness. The springs (90) allow the motion of the moving member (70) to change positions and also provide enough tension to hold the portable electronic gadget in its different positions.
Again, referring to figures 1 and 2, in an operation, the stand (100) allows a user to keep portable electronic gadget in different positions. The arrangement and the locking action of the teeth (40) align the portable electronic gadget in slant position at various angles. Hence, the user can adjust the position of the portable electronic gadget like the solar charging unit as per the direction of the sunlight.
In an embodiment, the material used for making the stand (100) includes but not limited to plastic, metal, or any other sturdy material known in the art.
Advantages of the invention:
1. The stand (100) allows the user to keep the portable electronic gadget like solar charging unit in different positions based on the availability of most possible sunlight.
2. The stand (100) helps to adjust the position of the portable electronic gadget like the LED lamp to focus light in different directions as per requirement.
3. The stand (100) helps the user to adjust the position of the portable electronic gadget as per the convenience of use.

1. A support stand (100), the support stand (100) being fixed on a housing (10) of a portable electronic gadget for holding the portable electronic gadget, the support stand (100) comprising:
a bracket (20) being in rectangular shape with one side open, the bracket (20) having,
• an opening (12) configured centrally at a closed side thereof;
• two openings (14) configured at each end of the open side thereof;
• two screw threads (16) being fitted centrally at each of two vertical sides thereof;
a bearing (30) being adapted for resting the bracket (20) thereon and allowing the bracket (20) to rotate freely without damaging the housing (10);
a shaft (50) being positioned at a centre of the bracket (20), the shaft (50) having teeth (40) configured equidistantly at 360 degrees thereon;
a fixed member (60) being placed to get locked with the shaft (50) to align and keep the shaft (50) in place;
a moving member (70) being placed to get locked with the teeth (40) to hold and/or align the portable electronic gadget in different slanting positions at various angles; and
an anchor (80) connected with the moving member (70) via at least two springs (90), wherein the at least two springs (90) allow motion of the moving member (70) to change position of the portable electronic gadget and provide enough tension to hold the portable electronic gadget.
2. The support stand (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the portable electronic gadget is selected from any one of portable charging units including batteries, solar charging unit and LED lamp.
3. The support stand (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the openings (12, 14) are used for attaching a lanyard to carry and/or to hold the portable electronic gadget.
4. The support stand (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the screw threads (16) are adapted for allowing the bracket (20) to be mounted on and/or to be fixed with a camera.
5. The support stand (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fixed member (60) and the moving member (70) are fitted by snap fitting.
6. The support stand (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the support stand (100) is made from a material selected from any one of plastic, metal and a combination thereof.
