TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure relates to a protective face mask capable of killing germs and viruses. Typically, the present invention relates to a three-layered face mask that can be reused and a method for manufacturing the same.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The background information herein below relates to the present disclosure but is not necessary a prior art.
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), commonly known as Covid-19 from 2019, there has been millions of deaths worldwide. Coronavirus-2 is an airborne virus which travels through air and has the tendency to suspend in air as droplets from few seconds to few minutes. Whenever the virus in the form of droplets is inhaled, it can cause serious respiratory problems.
Regular sanitization of hands and wearing face mask is the main prevention that can be done to reduce the spreading of the virus. Facemask provides first wall in defense of such pathogenic virus which spreads through air. Various types of masks are available in the market such as surgical mask, N95 mask etc. However, these masks are not very efficient in prevention of spreading of virus as surgical masks are loose fitted disposable masks that are not efficient in filtering the small sized virus. Further, the surgical mask does not kill the virus and cannot be reuse again.
N95 masks provides more protection than the surgical masks by filtering dust particles to small particles. However, like surgical masks, N95 masks are also disposable and cannot be reused. Further N95 masks have valves attached to the masks which do not filer the air which wearer breathes out and can cause suffocation to the wearer.
Masks made from cloths can absorbs the droplets coming through the wearer's mouth while talking or breathing and prevents wearer from inhaling the microbes and virus. The protection of the said masks can be improved by adding more than two layers of cloth. These cloth masks can be reused after washing them properly. However, these mask does not self-sterilize itself by killing the virus.
Hence, there is felt a need for a face mask that mitigates the aforesaid drawbacks.

The present disclosure envisages a protective face mask that overcomes the drawbacks of the conventional face masks.
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, a protective face mask is disclosed.
The present disclosure discloses a protective face mask (200) comprising three layers of nonwoven cloth, wherein the outer layer (202) is coated with silver nano particles, middle layer (204) is coated with conductive layer and the inner layer (206) is non coated to impart maximum benefit to the wearer.
Figure 1 illustrates three different layers of non-woven face mask (100) with their specific coatings are acquired and improvised to fulfil the objective of present disclosure. In accordance
with the present disclosure, the protective face mask (100) comprises upper spandex (1 A), loop (1B), ear bead (1C), neck loop (1D), lower spandex (1E) and mask covering face (1F).
Figure 2 illustrates a protective face mask (200) comprising three protective layers. The outer layer (202) is made of polypropylene (PP) and thickness of the PP layer is 40 gsm, the middle layer (204) is 125 GSM SSMMS cloth, coated with conductive copper, further comprises a inner layer (206) of 25 gsm PP cloth with no coating.
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, the conductive copper coating has three layers i.e., (i) dielectric layer, (ii) foundation layer and (iii) nano copper layer. The dielectric layer which is responsible for charging the copper particles to eliminate viruses using mild electricity.

The outer layer of the protective mask (202) is prepared by spraying silver nano particles on 50 gsm PP cloth. The PP cloth is first hanged between two poles and with the help of a compressor and spray gun, the silver nano coating is sprayed over the PP cloth for not more than 5 seconds per travel. The sprayed PP cloth is then allowed to dry for 30 minutes. The nano silver coating is flammable till it dries and becomes inflammable post drying.
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, the middle layer (204) of mask is coated with conductive copper comprising three layers i.e., Di electric layer, Foundation layer and Nano copper layer. Initially, the Di electric layer is sprayed first and after two minutes the foundation layer is coated. After two minutes, the copper Nano layer is coated and is left for drying for 30 minutes. Once the layer is dried, the dried layer is kept in a cool environment.
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, the 50 gsm cloth is M/s Park Non-woven spun bound material.
The silver nanoparticles provide antiviral protection to the mask with antimicrobial properties and the conductive copper layer helps in attaching the viral particles to itself and inactivating the virus by its charge, thereby keeping public including the health workers safe from germs and viruses.
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, the Silver Nano coating is jointly made by the inventors of the present disclosure and M/s Reinste Nano ventures. The silver nano
coating has been further approved by DBST and tested by NFSU, GUJARAT to eliminate the corona viruses in 30 minutes.
In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, the protective face mask is capable of eliminating or killing 100 percent of air borne corona viruses and germs in 30 minutes as per tests by NFSU, GUJRAT and ISO 21702 testing norms as shown in table below:
The protective face mask of the present disclosure is cost effective, reusable and easily accessible to the health workers and public, thereby providing protection against viral or bacterial infection transmitted through the air.
