Abstract: The invention relates to a layer (1) for reducing air resistance of a forward-moving object, which layer comprises : - a pattern of surfaces (2) rising in a first direction (R) ; and - channels (3) running between the surfaces in a second direction at an angle to the first direction. A flow is brought about on a micro-scale in the channels which damps the occurrence of turbulence in the main flow over the surface, thereby reducing air resistance.
