Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid supply apparatus. The apparatus helps to transfer liquids including fuels from tankers to a ship. The apparatus comprises a universal threaded portion (1) on one side and a stepped diameter (2) along the length on the opposite side.
DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present invention generally relates to a liquid supply apparatus. More particularly, the present invention relates to a hose coupling apparatus can get couple with hoses of different diameters.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
[002] A variety of procedures and systems are used to transport liquids in bulk quantities. For instance, vehicles designed specifically for liquid transport are available in motor, sea, and rail transport forms. Transferring liquid between vehicles is a tedious process, in fact, the process of transferring liquid from a tank to a ship is more complex and includes the steps of (i) liquid stored in Tanks of Tanker, (ii) Outlet at the Tanker / Shore connection (iii) Hose, provided by Ship (Hose from the tanker being small and does not meet the length required to reach filling point on-board) (iv) Inlet point on board Ship, and (v) Storage tank onboard the ship.
[003] In ships, the liquid filling points will be different in each type of vessel. This even requires maintaining large number of inventory for transfer of liquids. The improper usage of equipment can even lead to spillage of both fuel and fresh water. This further led to financial loss.
[004] Therefore, a need exists for a device, which have hoses and end connections compatible with all kinds of vessels, and could be universal for use with tankers/trucks bringing liquids.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION:
[005] Accordingly, the present invention discloses a liquid supply apparatus. More particularly, the present invention relates to an apparatus for transferring liquids, including fuels from tankers to a ship.
[006] In an embodiment, the apparatus includes a threaded portion (1) on one side and a stepped diameter (2) along the length on the opposite side.
[007] In an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is compatible with all kinds of inlet points in vessels.
[008] In another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus prevents loss of liquid due to leakage during transfer.
[009] In still another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus does not require maintaining a large inventory when transferring fuel.
[010] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is adapted to withstand a pressure of 20 Kg / Cm2, whilst transferring fuel.
[011] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is safe and cost-effective.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[012] The invention has other advantages and features which will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description of the invention and the appended claims, when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
[013] Fig 1 depicts a liquid supply apparatus.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
[014] While the invention has been disclosed with reference to certain embodiments, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes may be made and equivalents may be substituted without departing from the scope of the invention. In addition, many modifications may be made to adapt to a particular situation or material to the teachings of the invention without departing from its scope.
[015] Throughout the specification and claims, the following terms take the meanings explicitly associated herein unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. The meaning of "a", "an", and "the" include plural references. The meaning of "in" includes "in" and "on." Referring to the drawings, like numbers indicate like parts throughout the views. Additionally, a reference to the singular includes a reference to the plural unless otherwise stated or inconsistent with the disclosure herein.
[016] The figures and protocols have been represented where appropriate by conventional representations in the drawings, showing only those specific details that are pertinent to understanding the embodiments of the present invention so as not to obscure the disclosure with details that will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art having benefit of the description herein.
[017] As illustrated in Figure 1, the liquid supply apparatus is Zig shaped and manufactured using MS Pipes of variable diameter.
[018] In an embodiment of the present invention, the pipes of the apparatus are welded together, giving it a stepped construction.
[019] In another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus has a threaded portion (1) on one side and a stepped diameter (2) along the length on the opposite side.
[020] In still another embodiment of the present invention, the threaded portion mate with the fitting provided in the tanker/truck.
[021] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the length of each step is carefully constructed to ensure adequate space for clamping of flexible hose for each step.
[022] In still another embodiment of the present invention, the diameter of the outlet on the apparatus is variable and can meet with all the variable diameters of flexible hoses deployed with various types of vessels. With the help of stepped diameter portion (2), the apparatus provides the flexibility to connect hoses of different diameters. In most preferred embodiment, three different diameters may be incorporated. However, it is to be understood that scope of this invention is not limited to three different diameters and may be extended as applicable.
[023] In an embodiment of the present invention the apparatus helps to transfer liquids, from tankers to a ship.
[024] In another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is adapted to transfer liquids which include but are not limited to water, sewage, and fuels.
[025] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is adapted to withstand a pressure of 20 Kg / Cm2, whilst transferring fuel.
[026] In still another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus does not require maintaining a large inventory while transferring fuel.
[027] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus is safe, and cost-effective from the point of view of production.
[028] ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION:
