COMPLETE SPECIFICATION
Z-RING
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:

FIELD OF THE INVENTION: This invention relates to safety barrier. More particularly this invention relates to portable safe;) barrier. Specifically this invention relates to the a metal ring which is used to keep away the undesired people and have protuberances emerging out of it as and when required to handle the crowd.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION: Many different approaches to the protection of personnel from life-threatening attacks exist. Examples of such approaches include bullet-proof glass, jackets, concrete and steel building structures, armored cars, erection of protective structures in case its an occupational hazard to name a few. The particular option chosen depends on whether the person is stationary, located in a vehicle, located within a building, or is required to maintain mobility outside the confines of any specific stationary structure.
Intensive research is going on for keeping the undesired personnel in or out of restricted area. Several solutions have been attempted in the field. Some of them find maximum use in a specific locations like on dais etc while others cover a large variety of areas of exposure of the persons in question, like over the car or building, while in movement and even military places.
US 4,921,220 to Arakaki discloses a method wherein a continuous elongated trench is provided around a prison or military fortification. Parallel plates were provided on opposite side walls with razor or barbed wire in the bottom or the trench.
US 6,336,623 to McCarthy provides a demountable safety barrier for use along or on the edge of a roof or other precipice. According to the invention multiple upright adjacent posts spaced apart are each pivoted and mounted on a first base plate affixed along an edge of a precipice. The posts have bores through opposed sides and L-shaped brackets mounted on at least one side surface.
Eminent personalities are exposed to major physical threat because of their popularity and less frequent public interaction. Several researchers have attempted to provide security solutions to celebrities and VIPs.
US 6029558 to Steven discloses reactive personnel protection system which detects the presence of a concussive shock wave or ballistic projectile as it approaches a designated personnel target. Before impact, an air bag is rapidly inflated and interposed between the destructive force and the target so as to provide a protective barrier.
However it is observed that when an important person, a celebrity or a person of interest for the public, appears in public places or is moving in a large gathering of people with several thousand people around, that person can hardly move forward due to milling crowd in spite of being surrounded by security personnel or personal body guards.
The surging crowds of hundreds or thousands of people around the VIP person pose a great security risk to that person as they will be pulling, pushing, jostling to be near the person, to shake hand or to greet or hail that person. This creates a very dangerous situation for the

personal security and safety of that person because of the proximity and the closeness of a tumultuous and excited crowd.
It may be impossible to keep the crowd away as the situation necessitates the presence of
both the crowd or gathering of people and the leader or the VIP to be together at a particular
place due to political, social or religious reasons.
For the sake of popularity or affinity the celebrity/VIP person himself will not like the crowd to be driven away or harshly dealt with. But when the situation becomes uncontrollable due to unmanageable crowds of several thousands of people the organizers of the event or the security personal or the police have no other option but to resort to use of force like pushing away the crowds or as a last resort to use of batons and sticks. This aggravates the situation and the event organizers face an ugly situation with a very unpleasant experience for the personality in question.
Therefore, considering the specific requirement of providing the security to celebrity while avoiding extreme situation like use of water canon, tear gas etc and the limitations of the prior art, the inventor has come- up with the current invention in less resource extensive manner. Hence the inventor discloses a protective Z- RING in this invention. Being inside the Z-RING a safe distance can be maintained between the celebrity, VIP and general public while being gentle with them.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION: The main objective of the invention is. to provide a solution to security of the celebrity or VIP exposed to crowd without being harsh to the general public surrounding them.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention will now be described in detail in connection with certain preferred and optional embodiments, so that various aspects thereof may be more fully understood and appreciated.
The present invention relates to security device to be employed for celebrities VIP and VVIP when moving in public without being harsh to the general public.
The invention discloses a Z-ring for security of the celebrities when exposed to public.

The Z-ring disclosed in the invention is a round, oval or oblong Fig 1. The Z-Ring is made of hollow steel, reinforced steel, aluminum reinforced with steel or either steel or aluminum hollow pipe or carbon fiber for extreme strength, rigidity and durability at the same time to be light weight for easy handling.
According to the objective of the invention the celebrity, the VIP would be in the centre of
the round, oval or oblong Z - RING surrounded by four or six security personnel who are also
inside and in the protective barrier of the Z ring. These security personnel or the aides of the
VIP or celebrity hold the Z ring from inside with the VIP in their center. The crowds or large
number of people will be outside the Z ring.
According to the invention the length of the Oval Z-ring from front to back is 3 meters. The width is 2 meters. The diameter of stainless steel or Aluminum tube used is 10 centimeters. The thickness of the wall of this tube is 3mm.
The Z-ring has handles (2) and (2a) of fig 1, fixed to the inner wall of the ring. The distance between two handles is 60 cm. These handles will be fixed in the entire inner wall of the ring. The handles serve for holding the ring from inside.
The security personnel who will be inside the ring may hold the ring from inside. The VIP will be in the middle of the security persons and the Z ring.
The Z ring will be used or handled maximum by 6 persons. All 6 persons will be inside the Z ring with the VIP in their centre (3) & (4) of fig 1. 2 persons towards the back and front of the VIP or celebrity while one in front side and one person holding the ring from inside at the rear portion of the Z Ring. All the six persons will be holding the handles of Z RING from inside.
With the VIP surrounded by the 6 security persons and the additional security of the metallic Z ring the VIP person can be safe inside the Z ring.
The 6 security persons with the VIP in their middle and they themselves protected by the metallic Z Ring which they are holding and which forms a barrier between them and the surrounding crowds can quickly keep moving forward to their desired point of arrival.
If the crowd or very large number of people are placid, passive, harmless and under control or disciplined the VIP surrounded by the security personnel and within the protective confines of the ZR can move ahead effortlessly and harmlessly.
To further enhance the security, Z ring is provided with certain pointed devices in its body. The Z ring has 6mm x 30 mm slots into the wall. The distance between two slots will be 10 cm. A similar slot of 6mm x 30 mm will be made exactly opposite the slot first made for housing the pointed tabs/fins as in (5) of fig 1.

A number of thin pointed tabs will come out of the slots made into the body of the Z ring such slots are made throughout the enure length of the tube.
These pointed tabs on the outer side will deter the crowd from forcefully pushing or pressing against the Z ring. The blunt points of the tabs which protrude from the wall of the ZR will not be sharp enough to cause injury but such that will cause discomfort and will be painful if body presses hard against the tabs. This will deter the persons surrounding from outside the Z ring to hold the Z ring or to bodily press against it. Therefore they will try to keep away from the Z ring thus ensuring a smooth forward movement for the VIP and security personnel ushering him forward from the inside of the protective Z ring. These pointed tabs will be fixed inside the body of the Z ring by bolts and nuts and deployed and retracted by steel cable (12 of Fig 3)and springs (11 of Fig 3) .The pointed tabs protruding from the slots which can be deployed (13 of Fig 3)when needed and retracted back into the body of the ZR when not required.
The oval or round Z ring will have the pointed but blunt tabs (10 of fig 3) protruding from the outer wall of the Z ring so that holding it, pushing against it or pulling it will be painful but not injurious.
According to the invention the Z ring will have an opening to let the VIP and the security personnel, which may be opened or closed to allow entry or exit. This opening will be made by sliding in a 1 meter section of Z ring which will be of a slightly smaller diameter and which will slide into the main body of the Z ring thus allowing the VIP and the Security personnel to enter the Z ring and after that can be slid out to close the gap or entrance.
The wall thickness of the tube of Z ring is 3 mm comprising of Aluminum or stainless steel.
The outer diameter of the Z ring Tube which is of oval shape is 80mm width and 120 mm length as seen at the cross section of the Z Ring.
The section of 1 meter for entry and exit is of a smaller diameter as in (6) & (7) of fig 2. This is of 75 mm width and 115 mm height.
This section will slide in the main body of the Z Ring to form a one meter opening to facilitate entry and exit from the Z Ring of Security personnel (7 of Fig 2) and the VIP (6 of Fig 2).
The shape and the dimension of this 1 meter sliding entry exit section will be 5mm less in length and width so as to easily slide in and slide out of the main body of the Z ring. The width of this sliding section will be 75mm and length 115 mm if seen in the cross section.
Additionally according to the invention the Z Ring can be carried over the hood or roof of a car or van and can be taken out for use to form a protective barrier or a protective ring to keep a VIP inside the safety of the Z ring safe from the fury of a mob or hecklers.
Additionally the Z- Ring can be of either rigid or folding type for ease and convenience of handling and portability.

Advantages of the invention:
■ The Z ring is sleek, simple and light weight, easy to use.
■ No extra fixtures either permanent or temporary are required for functioning of Z ring.
■ Z Ringing is cost and space effective.
■ Z Ringing can be used or removed immediately without any hassles. No extra training required for handling hence not resource intensive.
■ Can be mounted on vehicle also if needed. Or modified to fit under a helicopter or aircraft.
■ VIP/celebrity is not totally physically separated like in the bullet-proof barriers hence communication can continue. Hence the purpose of the celebrity/VIP in public may not suffer.
■ The crowd is not treated roughly and forcefully.
