As per the Nice Classification updates 2026, the following clarifications are particularly relevant to Class 40:
Plastic recycling, carbon capture material processing, and sustainable textile finishing are now more clearly classified in Class 40.
Practical takeaway: Class 40 applies to services performed on others' materials, not to the sale of the treated product itself.
