Classification principle: If the product is a plant-based foodstuff, bakery item, confectionery, or condiment, it generally falls within Class 30.
As per the Nice Classification updates 2026, the following clarifications are particularly relevant to Class 30:
Plant-based dairy alternatives, functional foods with non-medicinal health claims, and ready-to-drink coffee or tea beverages are now more clearly classified in Class 30.
Practical takeaway: Beverages made from tea, coffee, or cocoa belong here, while soft drinks and fruit juices generally fall in Class 32.
