As per the Nice Classification updates 2026, the following clarifications are particularly relevant to Class 29:
Plant-based meat alternatives, cultured or lab-grown proteins, and ready-to-eat prepared meals are now more clearly classified in Class 29.
Practical takeaway: Fresh produce belongs in Class 31, while prepared, preserved, or animal-derived food products generally fall in Class 29.
