As per the Nice Classification updates 2026, the following clarifications are particularly relevant to Class 8:
Ergonomic and smart hand tools with sensors, battery-assisted garden tools below motor thresholds, and precision craft tools are now more clearly classified in Class 8. Earlier, some hybrid tools were filed in Class 7 or Class 9 because of minor electronic features.
