Abstract

The optimization process for complex nonlinear systems using a genetic algorithm comprises the steps of: a) creating an initial population: GA begins with a randomly chosen assortment of chromosomes, which serve as the initial population. b) Evaluate the fitness value of each chromosome: Each chromosome in the initial population is evaluated by the fitness function. c) Apply selection, crossover, and mutation operators to fitter individuals to generate a new population: Genetic operators are applied to fitter individuals from the population to maintain diversity in the population which consists of fitter individuals. d) Again, calculate fitness value: Fitness value is evaluated for testing the achievement of optimization. e) Repeat the process until termination criteria are met: the process continued until the optimization goal is achieved.
