The Shops and Establishment Act was enacted to regulate the employees and their employers of the unorganized sector. One of the main purposes of this Act was to give authority, attach liability, and regulate the nature of work of the employers and employees that are associated with the Unorganized employment sector. Moreover, this Act also regulates the status and working of shops, establishments, restaurants, and other places of public entertainment.

Under this Act, different shops and establishments are subjected to obtaining a license. This license is to be obtained even before the shop starts operating physically. The different States have different criteria to obtain the said license. Registration

The online registration to obtain a shop license in Haryana can be done by following these simple steps:-

  1. Visit the official Haryana Labour Department Website (https://www.hrylabour.gov.in/).
  2. You are required to create a Login ID using an Email ID and Phone Number that is operational.
  3. Please remember your Username and Password; write the details down if necessary.
  4. After creating your Login ID, you need to create your profile with the Basic Information. This shall contain all information of your shop- Shop Address, Workers, Details of Occupier/Manager, Nature of Business, etc.
  5. Upload the above mentioned documents in the prescribed format, size and pixels.
  6. The next step is to pay the required fee.
  7. At the time of final submission, OTP is sent to the registered mobile number for verification. Once the verification is complete, the application is submitted.

Fee Payment

Payment of fees is an essential part of obtaining the license. Under the Shops and Establishments Act, different types of establishments have different amounts that are needed to be paid in order to obtain the license. The table below gives the type of establishment with the fee applicable to it:-

Renewal of Trade License

Your Shop license can be easily renewed by following a few simple steps online. The details that need to be provided at the time of renewal are the same details that were required at the time of registration.

  2. Fill out the necessary details with the required documents.

  4. Once the payment is made, your application process will be completed.
